Market Your Agency

Is marketing your agency dropping off your to-do list? Let me take that for you so that you can focus on your clients.

Your agency is amazing but...

  • Have website updates been sitting on your to-do list since last year?
  • Are competitors picking up the best contracts because they look better than you online? Even though you know they're not.
  • When was the last time you did a case study? Or shared testimonials?

The agency market is changing, and you want to stay ahead. Pitches, networking and sales meetings all take time, so marketing never gets a look-in. Plus, you want to have a bit more substance when you're going against those bigger agencies.  Or the ones you know will undercut you. You're fed up with hearing: “it was close, but we’ve gone in a different direction”. Or worse: ghosted.

You're busy with client work, so marketing your agency always comes second.

You know it shouldn't be this hard to win new business. It’s time to make a change. Let me market your agency and:

R

Be at the front of mind for your client referrals

R

Make pitching easier because you’re already the no.1 choice

R

Show off your great work with epic case studies

R

Stand out as a thought leader in your field - not just someone who posts a lot on LinkedIn

R

Build your agency brand so that new leads know who you are before you’re even recommended.

When the marketing is in hand, you have more time to focus on winning the business. With every pitch, introduction and referral supported by evidence that you're the number one choice in the field.

Referrals fuel 90% of agency business

You know this, and your team is brilliant at delivering the work. But getting a referral is only half of the story. You need people to be excited about working with you before you've even had that introductory meeting.

And those lovely new leads? Well, they’re already excited about working with you before they’ve even spoken to you.

You’ve got the talent but not the time.

It's time to hand this over so that marketing delights future clients as much as your excellent customer service does.

Is your website really the best shop window it can be?

Or is it a bit out of date, and you’d rather send a pitch deck than send someone to your homepage? Maintaining a website is a big job. All those little updates, the big wins you had, the projects that went well, all needed adding ages ago. And the services? Well, it doesn’t quite represent the agency you are today.

Making your website a thing you can be proud of doesn’t mean rebuilding it. Simple things like copy tweaks and updating the messaging can make a big difference. And as someone who writes for a living, I know EXACTLY how hard it can be to write your own website copy. Some might say it’s the hardest job in marketing.

And it’s probably why you’ve been putting it off for so long.

Thinking about selling one day?

A strong marketing presence will help investors see that you’re serious about building a brand beyond yourself. It shows investors that your agency stands out and is worth buying or investing in. And you already know how much those metrics matter because it makes a difference for your clients.

But how can you simply hand it over?

Marketing is a huge project. You've got a long list of niggles to get out of your head and updates that need to be done. Where would I even begin?

By working closely with you, the agency founder.  I put together a marketing strategy that takes you towards your business goals. Then I take that workload off your desk and make it happen.  Through clear project management, broken down into manageable chunks, and prioritised according to what will make the biggest difference to your business.

Your agency gets more brand awareness. You, as the founder, build your thought leadership. Your team feels valued and that their efforts are recognised. Your clients get to share their stories.

Here's the Process:

Case Studies

Case studies and testimonials are core to marketing your agency. It helps your clients make recommendations and lets people know about how brilliant your services are. But the work doesn’t stop at a pretty case study page. I’ll work with your client to create video content and make sure that your case studies and testimonials are sprinkled far and wide across your social media, pitch decks, and website.

Anywhere that you need social proof, you’ll find an expert case study that makes sales much easier.

Thought Leadership & Personal Brand

As the agency founder, most of the sales process sits on your shoulders. That’s why thought leadership is a lot more than posting on LinkedIn. It’s about sharing your story, your unique take and developing your core argument.

This could be an aspect of how you do business, the purpose that sits behind your agency, or the experience you have that no other agency founder can come close to.

We will bring this out and create a suite of content that will build towards keynote speeches, interviews, and maybe even a book. If you’re up for it?

SEO / AIO

Helping your expertise spread far and wide is part and parcel of marketing your agency. Yes, 90% of marketing managers find you through word of mouth, but that still leaves the 10% of people who will simply Google or ask Claude.

That’s before we mention leads who are doing their due diligence on you. A good SEO and AI presence will create the right first impression for your brand. And you’ll know that you’re not losing out on clients because your online presence is a bit lacking.

Digital PR

Getting you on podcasts, contributing to industry press, putting your thoughts in all of the right places. It’s about getting the right pieces live in the right places for your target audience.

Messaging

As an agency offering services that every business needs, it’s too easy to dilute your messaging. And it happens without you realising. I work with a messaging specialist to make sure that your offers are as targeted and effective as possible.

Hey, I'm Fiona

I’ve worked in marketing for over 20 years. I’ve worked across most industries. From the fun but full-on music industry, right through to the more serious fintech, law, and medical. Over the years, I’ve worked within agencies, supporting them when they’re overflowing with work. I’ve worked with Heads of Marketing, helping them source the right agency for their needs.

But mostly, I work with founders to make sure that their story reflects the business story. And when it comes to agencies, I know that you have the talent to do this yourself. You just don’t have the time. It’s why I love this work so much. There is more depth to it, and the ideas that bounce around are so much better.

When you work with me, you’re getting more than someone to market your agency. You’re getting a real partner in the business who really understands what it takes to find new clients.

You don’t need me telling you how important marketing is, especially when the marketplace gets tough. It’s why I really want to get this off your list and onto mine.

Oh, and I only ever take on a very limited number of agency clients. Only one or two a year. That’s because this is deep dive work. And you want all of my attention.

How I Work With Agency Founders

You're short on time, so let's make this simple.

A "no-commitment" retainer is the best way to work with me. If you want elements of the service, such as case studies or thought-leadership, then it's best to talk.  Otherwise, this is what you can expect from Market Your Agency.

Why "no-commitment?

You don't need to be tied into a long-term contract. We review at regular intervals and adjust if needed. I've worked with some clients for years, with others for a short project.

Your Marketing. Sorted.

Working closely with the founder, we go through the process below. Using only what is needed to hit your business goals.  This is how it works:

Kick Off Call

This is a quick 30-minute call to set in place the timelines, goals, project management and reporting. We'll book in a date where I'll come to your office with my messaging expert.

Strategy Day

We'll spend a full day in your office going through the foundations of the marketing strategy. As a creative agency, you know what to expect. We'll help refine your messaging, ask lots of questions around the purpose of your marketing and the impact you want to make. It will be a day of digging deep into the business.

There should even be time to run some employee interviews and start gathering expert insights and research.  This day includes working with a messaging specialist at no extra cost.

Research Time

Next, we'll start talking to your clients, building out your brand story, and doing deep market research. At the end of this, you'll get focused and effective messaging, offers that are easy to sell, and a strategy that's designed for you.

Delivery

Once all of the foundational work is done, the delivery work will start. You'll get access to a project management system to track the progress. If you have a prefered system in-house, then that's what I'll use.

From here, monthly reporting, quarterly reviews and a collaborative check-in process will begin. You can expect to spend around 2-3 hours per month working closely with me so that I can deliver the best possible content.
